Dzongri / Goecha La Trek |
|
| |
This is the most popular trek
in Sikkim and famed for great mountain views, a
floral spectacle in summer, birds and views of
pristine forest. From the trail head at Yuksom,
the erstwhile capital of Sikkim to the high
point of Dzongri Top at 15,000 feet, right in
the splendour of the Kanchenjunga National Park,
the trek passes through thickly forested ridges
crowded with rich flora to the heights above the
tree line, finally culminating at the
breathtaking snowy heights of the Kanchenjunga
National Park. |

Green Lake Trek |
|

The trek to Green Lake, the
base of Mt. Khangchendzonga on the Zemu glacier
in North Sikkim is the most enchanting of all
treks in this area with a variety of flowers
such as rhododendrons, primulas and blue
poppies. The view of the Mt. Khanchendzonga is
fantastic. |

Sandakphu Trek |
|
| |
The loftiest peak of the
Singalila Range, Sandakphu is the culminating
point of many trekking routes in the Darjeeling-Sikkim
region. At an altitude of 3,636 m, it is located
at a distance of 58 km. from Darjeeling. Nature
here is at her pristine best, and the vista at
the top is worth all the hardship endured on the
way. Aptly called the Paradise of Trekkers, the
Sandakphu peak is a vantage point from where one
can see four of the world's five highest peaks -
Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and Lhotse in a
continuous snow-clad arc. |
